Craft brewery and restaurant in the heart of Auburn, pouring award-winning ales and lagers alongside pub fare.
Auburn Alehouse is a brewpub set in the historic American Block Building at 289 Washington Street in Old Town Auburn, a space that once housed the Shanghai Restaurant and bar. Opened in June 2007 by brewer Brian Ford, it revived a local brewing tradition that had lapsed for over a century. The interior blends the brick-and-mortar charm of the old building with a gleaming 10-barrel microbrewery, so guests can watch beer being made just feet from their table while enjoying lunch, dinner, and a pint. Its beers have earned medals at the Great American Beer Festival, the World Beer Cup, and the Brewers Cup of California. An outdoor patio offers views toward the historic Auburn courthouse.
