100+ artists open their studios each November.
The Placer Artists Tour is a free, self-guided open-studios event, described as the largest art studio tour in the foothills region, that opens the doors of artists, schools, and galleries across Placer County to the public. Held over two November weekends, it lets visitors choose which studios to visit, view and buy artwork directly from its makers, watch demonstrations, attend artist talks, and enjoy live local music at select stops. No appointments are needed and admission is free, so art lovers can wander at their own pace and connect with the people behind the work. The long-running annual tour has been a fixture of the local arts calendar for decades. Visitors come for the rare chance to see foothills artists at work in their own spaces, discover original pieces, and support the regional creative community face to face.
