Healing Pastures at C-Horse Ranch is a nonprofit equestrian center off Highway 49 in Auburn that pairs horseback riding with equine-assisted therapy, summed up in its motto about rescuing animals so they can rescue people. It offers English and Western riding lessons for all ages in group or individual formats, including programs designed for riders with special needs, plus therapy sessions, seasonal horse camps, birthday parties, and school and adult field trips. The ranch is a Girl Scout-certified riding center and also provides boarding, and most of its animals are rescues. A community garden on site supports a local food closet.
