Placer Community Theater

All-volunteer theater company staging comedies, musicals, and open mics.

Placer Community Theater is a 100% volunteer-run nonprofit that has been staging live theater in the Auburn area for more than two decades. Founded in the fall of 2003, the company famously began with seed money from $20 dues collected at its first meeting, which paid for its first scripts, and it earned nonprofit status the following year. Since then it has produced dozens of plays, musicals and other live shows, typically mounting two to three productions a year while supporting new talent and cultural enrichment in the community. The all-volunteer model means residents pitch in on and off stage to bring each show to life. For visitors, the company offers accessible, community-rooted live theater and a window into Auburn's grassroots performing-arts spirit.
