Hidden Falls Regional Park

A family-friendly waterfall hike with miles of easy trails.

Hidden Falls Regional Park is a Placer County gem with more than 30 miles of natural trails winding through oak woodland and river canyon. The star attraction is the waterfall, reached via the roughly three-mile Hidden Falls Access Trail, while the Seven Pools Loop offers a longer outing for stronger hikers. A short, quarter-mile paved accessible trail welcomes strollers and little legs, so families can tailor the day to any age. The falls run most dramatically in winter and spring after rains. Trails are open to hiking, biking, and horseback riding, giving older kids and teens room to explore. Parking reservations are required on weekends and designated busy dates, so families should book online before arriving since permits aren't sold on-site. It's a rewarding nature escape just minutes from Auburn.
